Last night we celebrated Shabbat in our home. We lite the candles, remembered and proclaimed that Jesus, Yeshua, is the light of the world and He is the King of the Universe.
Oh, how good to stop, remember, and say it out loud: Blessed are You, Oh Lord our God, King of the Universe.
Today, as we rest on this beautiful Shabbat, I keep hearing in my mind and heart, “King of the Universe.”
As I reflected back on Bible stories and also my life, I heard him whisper, “I am King of the Universe. I was then and I am now.”
When the Israelites were in Egypt, I was King of the Universe and I had a plan.
When Daniel was in the lion’s den, I was King of the Universe and I had a plan.
When Jonah spent a few nights in the belly of the fish, I was King of the Universe and I had a plan.
When the early Christians were being persecuted and facing the lions in the arena, I was King of the Universe and I had a plan.
When you, Ruthie, walked through heartache, grief, and unbelief, I was still the King of the Universe and I had a plan.
When the coronavirus began in Wuhan, China, I was and I AM still the King of the Universe and I still have a plan.
In fact, when my only Son was beaten, bleeding and dying on a rough, wooden cross, I was still King of the Universe, and I still have a plan.
You see, I AM the Lord, the God of all flesh, there is nothing too hard for me.
So, Lord, we keep our eyes focused on you. Because you are the King of the Universe and You have a plan. There is nothing too hard for you.
Perfect word, Ruthie. God is Sovereign over everthing. He had a plan and purpose for each of us before the creation, and His plan will unfold exactly as he ordained it. Nothing … NOTHING … happens that He did not know about. He is not surprised by what happens, and even the awful things He will ultimately use for His glory.
This is the comfort of belonging to Him. Fret not. All is well (no matter what happens or how things look). Trust in the Lord.

You, the “I Am,” who needs nothing after Your name to complete it. “I AM that I AM”…completion, the summation and composition of all things, omnipresent, omniscient. Thank You, Father, that You are the Alpha, the Omega, and everything in between.
